I made soap for some friends’ wedding

This fall, a message from my friend Lindsey popped up on Facebook Messenger. She was putting together goodie bags for those of her wedding guests that were staying at the hotel. She wanted to have a special soap for the bags with a Minnesota-esque scent (both of us weren’t sure what that meant) and I was excited to oblige.

I got to work envisioning combos of color, essential oils, and additions to make the official “Lindsey and Tad Wedding Soap.” While I initially thought to do two bars, a his and hers with complementary scents, I ended up cramming them into one bar.

To make sure that the bar went with the color scheme, I didn’t do any colors at all! I would hate to get the wrong shade of burgundy, so I used some activated charcoal in half the bar to create a tuxedoed appearance and an all around traditional black-and-white-wedding feel. Lindsey was using gold as an accent, so I found a washi tape with an art deco gold swoop (which matched the invite!) to seal the labels.

Thanks to Lindsey and Tad for inviting me to be a part of your wedding. I hope your guests enjoy the soap as much as I do!

The Lindsey and Tad Wedding Bar is a half sized favor bar (2.25ish ounces) using my classic oil base and enhanced with two layers of scent; Lavender essential oils in one half, and peppermint essential oil in the other half. The bar also features activated coconut charcoal.
